Storage and care of the goods.
Tip # 1: Before you cover the bed, it is better to wait 10 minutes so the duvet can give away the moisture that it absorbed at night, into the external environment — the duvets are hygroscopic.
Tip # 2: Regular care: We recommend you to ventilate the duvet periodically to refresh it and improve its insulating properties. This will help your duvet stay fresh and increase the elasticity of the fluffs in the cells.
Tip # 3: For hygienic reasons, we always recommend to use a duvet cover while using your new duvet. Duvet covers are very practical, as they can be washed regularly. They allow you tochange quickly and easily the decor in your bedroom quickly. Duvet covers also save you time and money in the future, because it minimizes your need to wash the duvets.
Tip # 4: Change the top and bottom of the duvet every few weeks. This will help to minimize the wearing of certain area of your duvet, to ensure an equal distribution of natural filling and to extend the life of your duvet.
Tip # 5: Small stains can be removed by using warm water and a small amount of soft soap.
Tip # 6: Keep a natural duvet in a breathable bag. It is not recommended to store the duvet in a plastic bag, especially for long periods of time. After storage for a long period of time, the duvet should be fluffed to allow the fluffs to return to their original state. In any case, it is impossible to store moist down goods in a pressed form even for a few days. Down, being an organic substance, will simply rot.
Washing and drying the duvet at home.
Make sure that your washing machine is large enough to contain a duvet and has a drying function, if a washing machine doesn`t have this function, you have to go to the laundry.
Since the duvet has a large volume, it completely fills the chamber of your washing machine.
Tip # 1: Rinse without soaps.
Tip # 2: Put 3 balls for big tennis (tennis balls will evenly distribute the down in the cells and will not damage the duvet).
Tip # 3: Add a softsoap. (For down goods). Wash the blanket at 30 degrees.
Tip # 4: Do another wash cycle without soaps. This is important moment — wash off any leftover soaps so that the blanket does not dust.
Tip # 5: Dry 60 minutes with a low-temperature cycle. Take it out and shake, if it is still wet, continue drying. When you`ll finish, lay out the duvet for air drying (but not in the sun). Make sure that all sections are dry before laying a duvet on the bed.Shrinkage after washing can be up to 5%.
Washing the duvet in the laundry.
We recommend to wash down duvets and pillows every five years. Keep in mind that strong soaps can ruin the qualities of down. If you value your duvets and pillows, it is better to go to the laundry, specialized in down washing. Since household washing machines are not designed for washing down products and can damage them.
Do not leave the duvet in a plastic bag when you bring it at home from the laundry — lay out the duvet for air drying (not in the sun) to make sure that all sections are dry before laying a duvet on the bed. Proper care of down duvets and pillows will provide you with comfort and warmth for years to come.
